1875, 5 sen light green « negi », porous paper, together with « ribbon » 1 sen brown and 2 sen yellow, all on registered cover from Tokyo to Mibu (Shimotsuke Province), each tied by negative cross, with on reverse red « Hongo Yubinkyoku / Tokyo » (Hongo branch P.O.) double circle and black « Tokyo …5.31 » cds. 1 sen with three insect holes and cover corner fault, not affecting the rare 5 sen on domestic cover. A Meiji 9 (1876) usage. Inland usages of the 5 sen light green are rare. (JSCA ¥400,000).Provenance: Dr. Tani Takashi Catalogue ref: 51, 49, 50
