Lot 20141 – 1861 Saltillo 8 Reales Black/Brown

Saltillo 8r back/brown, a rare stamp with 3 excellent margins, slightly cut into in partly at right, tied to piece by oval datestamp (Schatzkès #1355) with registration markings on both sides alongside (#1360), originating from a registered cover. July 1855 instead of July 1856 error in the datestamp, encountered in other items from the same date. Only 700 stamps were issued. Very scarce. NF $350.
