1829 (July 15th) Folded entire sent from Garden Beach which is a suburb of Calcutta, India via Dublin to Chipping Norton, England, showing on reverse framed MISSENT TO / LONDON and the extremely rare IRISH / SHIP LETTER.One of only five examples of this ship letter marking so far recorded and this being the unique fully struck example.
Note: Paying the letter rate « 1/11 », 8d ship letter, 2d Dublin to Holyhead packet, 2d Menai and Conway Tolls, plus 11d inland to Chipping Norton.
