1868, 2 c. verde chiaro, mostrante la varietà senza la cifra « 2 », corrispondente alla posizione 84 del foglio, annullato con muto a losanga su lettera circolare di Roma del 16 luglio 1869 per città; lo stereotipo con l’errore venne subito sostituito e di conseguenza gli esemplari noti sono pochissimi, varietà di eclatante spettacolarità su lettera in ottimo stato di conservazione; cert. MAJOR PLATE VARIETY
1868 « 2 Omitted » variety tied to cover for a circular sent locally within Rome (16 LUG. 69 cds at centre). Only a few known, as the cliche, at pos. 84, was rapidly replaced. Perfect fresh condition, cancelled leaving the variety clearly visible, an important showpiece for this issue, extremely fine and rare (variety unpriced on cover by Sassone; on piece, €27’500) Expertise: Cert.
