1815-96, Group of 37 covers to the USA (Midwest, South and California) from Scotland, with 17 stampless incl. 1867 cover to Missouri with « US.NOTES » hs depreciated currency latter rate (earliest recorded date according to vendor), pair of 1837/38 entires to Virginia with one showing oval « SHIP LETTER / LEITH » with crown ds, three covers with « OLD RAIN » hs sent to Pennsylvania, ten at 1s rate incl. two with 1847-54 1s embossed, later frankings incl. 1869 covers with « ADVERTISED » and « UNCLAIMED » hs, 1868 cover with « INSUFFICIENTLY PREPAID » hs erased, 1884 envelope with « EDINr & CARSTAIRS SORTING TENDER » duplex (not priced and noted as « seldom seen » according to SG’s Collect British Postmarks), etc, a useful accumulation for a transatlantic collector
