1929-2004, Extensive and specialised collection of Vatican housed in 40 « BYRON » albums showing an astonishing display of varieties and proofs throughout, with much specialisation especially in the early years.  The more spectacular sections include the 1934 provisionals replete with overprint varieties, 1934 Juridical Congress with SAGGIO overprints as well as many other sets, 1936 set in gutter pairs, 1939 Interregnum issue with displaced backgrounds, 1940 and 1945 « Madaglionchini » sets replete with perforation varieties, plus the express stamps, 1948 airs with double-perf at top, imperf. at top, 1946 4th centennial set in gutter pairs, various imperf. in-between pairs, displaced perforations, etc., 1956 Swiss Guards proofs, TWO extremely rare 1958 air 500L perf. 14 of which one with watermark variety (both with certificate), and much more. Lot includes also 13 large stockbooks with complete sheets from 1954 to 2004. Undoubtedly the most complete and extensive collection of Vatican we have ever seen. Estimate: € 15’000 – € 20’000
