Lot 42111 – An extraordinary holding of almost nothing but rar

An extraordinary holding of almost nothing but rarities, errors and proofs, several hundred housed in an old leather-bound stockbook. SHS ovpts incl. extensive double and inverted overprints, the ovpts on Charles and Zita 10f violet and 15f red with Zrinjscak cert., the same issues in mnh blocks of ten, then the rare 10f rose white numerals harvester type with signatures, as well as the 15f also signed. Also interesting crude provisional ‘SHS’ and ‘SHS Preko-murje’ handstamp types unlisted incl. on postage dues and Koztarsasag ovpts, many used, followed by the 1920 2h surcharges on imperf Bosnian girl series complete mint all signed with additional 2h on 10h green inverted used, signed twice. Then Slovenia chain breakers, through to postage dues with many kinds of proofs incl. small chain breaker colour trials in tête-bêche blocks of four on pelure paper, King Peter issues on thick paper with burelage, even an original test-print sheet of the Croatia 1919 allegory of freedom and youth issues, with Petric opinion and signed by him, quite probably unique, etc, etc. A fascinating collection that would be near-impossible to replace.
