1851 Incoming entire from an army officer in Port Louis (Mauritius), endorsed ‘Per « Bell » with manuscript ‘8’ paying the 8d ship rate, handstamped s/l Ship Letter, circular ‘PAID’ and ‘Mauritius/GPO’ crown hs, most unusually letter was landed at Wexford (Ireland) with fine s/l WATERFORD/SHIP LETTER applied in blue (Robertson S2c). One other cover recorded from 1850 from Mauritius in a very poor state. Exhibition piece. Vente aux enchères
