1933 $4.50 Balbo INVERTED SURCHARGE, full original gum, couple nibbed perfs at foot but otherwise undamaged and very fine. Per the 1990 E. Diena certificate, this is one of the examples which escaped the destruction process (four subsequently repaired examples known); The certificate clearly states: « …che, dopo essere stati tagliati onde essere avviati al macero, furono sottrati e messi in commercio previa riparazione. » (SG £80’000)
One of the most important world airmail stamp varieties, and a rarity of the first rank Catalogue ref: 235a
