Polar: 1903-1905 French Antarctic Expedition, picture postcard depicting Dr. Charcot, « Commandant de de l’Expédition Antarctique Francaise », and showing expedition cachet « Expedition Antarctique/LE FRANCAIS » in red. Card addressed to Buenos Aires bearing uncancelled Argentina 5c with signed greetings message « Souvenir de l’Expédition du Dr. Charcot, from Robert Paumelle (Paumelle Point on Booth Island in the Wilhelm Archipelago was named by Charcot after Paumelle, mess steward on the « Francis ». A very rare card.
