Lot 50932 – Ionian Islands 1863 Cephalonia to Constantinople, oval accountancy

1863 entire to Constantinople with scroll despatch cancel bottom left, fine oval accountancy marking in same ink which indicates prepayment of the Ionian charge with red manuscript « 1 », blue oval FRANCA indicating prepayment of ship’s charge, unclear blue Agenzia Lloyd arrival date stamp. After the issuing of stamps in 1859 it was still possible to pay for postage in cash without affixing stamps.
