Description

1936–1952 George VI: An outstandingly fresh and remarkably fine mint and mint never hinged collection from the ever-popular reign of King George VI, neatly housed in eight (8) deluxe Kabe albums. This impressive holding shows an admirable degree of completeness from Aden to Zanzibar, with virtually all territories represented.

The collection features a wealth of complete sets, many to the high pound denominations, alongside an array of shades, perforation varieties, and inverted watermarks. Further depth is added with booklet panes, complete booklets, coils, postage due issues, and officials, providing a truly well-rounded representation of the period.

Particular strength is noted in key areas including Hong Kong, India and the Indian Convention States, and the Malayan States, with a strong selection of other sought-after colonies throughout. The condition is of a notably high standard, with only the very occasional hint of toning seen, making this an unusually fresh offering for the period.

This is without doubt a truly wonderful collection, both in scope and quality, and an excellent basis for expansion by a discerning collector. The catalogue value according to Stanley Gibbons exceeds £86,500, underlining the calibre and importance of the holding. (Thousands of stamps – SG £86,500+)
