1d. red on bluish, latest impression, four singles, margins ranging from clear to exceptional with two showing portions of adjoining stamps at top, positions 12, 6, 11 and 8, each tied by barred oval hs on folded 1860 entire letter from Port Louis to Granville, France, entering the country of destination with red cds and ‘8’ charge on front, reverse with ‘GPO/FE6 1860/MAURITIUS’ and various French cds’s, a delightful and most desirable usage.Provenance: Maurice Burrus, October 1963 (Lot 143), Hiroyuki Kanai, November 1993 (Lot 131) and Vikram Chand 2000 (Exhibited at British Library).
