1d. red on yellowish paper, worn impression, vertical pair with fine to huge margins, positions 5/8, cancelled by « 12 » numeral on 1859 folded letter from « Savane, le 2 mars » to Port Louis, despatch datestamp (wrong date) of Grand Savane on face (partly entered by postmaster in manuscript), MAURITIUS GPO receipt for MR 8 1859 on flap, a rare usage for this office
