1838 Rowland Hill Letter (24th July) about the Post Office Bill to Swynfen Jervis MP (the eccentric Liberal MP for Bridport) requesting his attendance at the House (of commons) re the Post Office Bill. Hills letter seemed to work as he did attend and voted in favour. Although the House was divided the motion passed (Ayes 81 Noes 56). Vente aux enchères
