1865 R.O.P.I.T. issue, 2k, two Sperati clichés on celluloid featuring the two design elements for the finished reproduction, one in vermilion and the other the inset tablet in turquoise, dated July 1948 and displaying Sperati’s production notes “Agfa voile vio” to indicate the type of celluloid used and the violet filter used to achieve the best contrast. An exceptional and visually impressive pair, with a single additional cliché recorded by the B.P.A. with the same date.
