Lot 81163 – 1871 Prince Carol « with beard » 1 Leu Essay in brow

1871 Prince Carol « with beard » 1 Leu Essay in brown on thin card -rejected proposal, as a definitive stamp value of 1L was only issued in 1893. The item has two contemporary(?) ink spots at top and some small abrasions on reverse, however an immense rarity with possibly only a couple in existence. Only colour described by Cohen (fig. 8), fine for such an extremely rare item.
