1837 (1.5) Folded lettersheet from London to Calcutta, showing superbly clear strike of the 2-line “CARE OF MR. WAGHORN / ALEXANDRIA” hs (Smith Type 4), endorsed by Waghorn’s Agent George W. Wheatley “275 / G.W.W.”, manuscript rated in red “3/2”, with boxed Bombay ds and red handstamp G.P.O. / 1837 both on reverse, slightly soiled, a rare cover with only around 50 examples recorded.
