1883 (May 6) Envelope from the Count de Kergaradec while on mission in Saigon, addressed to Countess de Kergaradec in Angers, franked Sage 25c tied by « LINGE N / 6 MAI 83 / PAQ. FR. No 4 » cds, with array of transit and arrival mkgs alongside or on reverse, a very fine and early out going cover. (Numbered « 5 » in crayon, being the code for each letter sent between the Count and the Countess)Note: The count, as the captain of a frigate, was sent to Cochinchina on 1 January 1869. In 1875 he was made the French Consul at Hanoi. On 1 January 1882 he became principal administrator of external affaires in Saigon. The countess was with her husband from 1879 to 1883 before returning to France.
