The Arabi Rebellion. 1882 (Sep 2) stampless soldiers cover to England, endorsed « From Pte George Stevenson A H Corps c/o Bde Surgeon McDowell AMD Ismalia » and countersigned by David Pringle (Captain of Orderlies Army Hospital Corps) showing very fine « BRITISH ARMY POST OFFICE/EGYPT » despatch c.d.s. (type ZA1, Proud type D/S 4) at upper right. Charged 1d. postage due on receipt with « T » and « 1d. » tax marks, confirming that the letter was allowed at the 1d. concession rate. Minor cover faults, though a very rare and important stampless soldiers concession rate cover from an army post office. Ex Gerald Sattin and Firebrace.
