Lot 60099 – Strengberg – Lower Austria (Niederösterreich). 1850 9kr (2) + 6kr on registered mail with advise of delivery to Belgium

Strengberg. 1850 9kr two clear to large margined examples, tied by two-line datestamp on 1st July 1856 large registered envelope to Brussels with advise of delivery, showing « Recomandirt », « Chargé » and « P.D. » markings alongside in red, with 6kr on reverse and tied by « RECOM: » straight line, which also cancels the franking on front, with Linz, Breslau and Brussels backstamps, a very rare AR registered mail to Belgium; Müller 2736a + 3711a, 40pts + 72pts.

Note: « 1 4/10 l » (loth) manuscript notation on front, and « f4 » weiterfranko on back (4Sgr), both denoting a double rate. The rest of the franking to pay the double rate -as encountered in other instances- was applied on the advise of receipt form, this additional service being used as confirmed by the endorsement « per Rezepise » on front of the cover.
