Lot 95347 – 1879, official letter from Asuncion to Constantinople

1879, official letter from Asuncion to Constantinople (care of the Egyptian post office), with oval ‘Administracion de Correos del Paraguay / Asuncion’, also Asuncion circular 24 Oct 79, and Correos de la Asuncion with star. Also on front is blue ‘Republic Arg. Bor Paris 1 Dec 79′. On reverse is Buenos Aires transit 2 Nov and Constantinople receiver 8 Dec. A scarce and very attractive cover with well-struck postmarks. Taxed in blue ’30’ despite the official letter status.
