1854 1/2a blue die II a spectacular block of 16 (4×4) stamps with retouches. Position 51-54, 59-62, 67-70, 75-78. We can see chignon retouches, corner star retouches, eye retouches and band retouches. Appears to be Die II Stone C. Large to clear margins and watermark and some toning overall and light vertical crease, very fine exhibition showpiece and research material; annotated and signed on reverse by Holcombe (S.G. £4’400).
