1856 (Nov 1) small envelope from Beaford (Devon) to Scotland with 1855-57 1d red-brown on slightly blued paper, wmk LC perf.14 pl.30, tied by late use of the Maltese Cross with « C.R » (Caledonia Railway), reverse with UDC despatch, London transit, Laurencekirk and Fettercairn ds, a lovely and rare late usage of the MC; cert.
