Description
1840 (7 Dec) 1d black pl.8 LA, a stunning marginal example from the left of the sheet showing part inscription « ce the Labels ABOVE » and with balanced margins on other sides, neatly tied on entire letter to Exeter, tied red MC, ‘’Lombard St 7 12 40’’ and ‘’Exeter 8 12 40’’ backstamps. A very attractive and rare entire with very few inscriptional stamps known from this plate on cover; cert. BPA (1997); ex « GL » (1981), Manzi (1997) and Vullo (2003).
