Lot 20792 – 1869 DDSG 10k green, perf. 9½, on cover from Galati to Braila, « clandestine » mail

1869: DDSG 10k green, perf. 9½, a fine used example on cover sent on 8/6/1869 from Galati to Braila (Hangiof correspondence), tied by « GALAZ » cds (8/VI) in blue (Tchilinghirian Fig. 813). The DDSG should have stopped receiving/delivering mail in Romania after 31/3/1869 according to the treaty with Austria, but « clandestine » mail still existed. Some toning and a file fold, but a fine, scarce and unusual cover. Opinion Ferchenbauer (1994).
