Description
1849 1Kr black proof with red silk thread, unused with original gum, close to large margins and deep colour, some minor gum toning, very rare with only one sheet printed and much rarer than the other existing proofs especially in this quality. The Bavarian number one was later printed in the same colour but without a silk thread, although they were added to the next Bavarian stamps. An interesting showpiece; certificate Stegmüller (2019).
