1899 (Nov 9) Eighteen composite colour trials were submitted with heads printed in doubly-fugitive inks, green or purple, for security purposes. The frames were printed in colours either new or in use already.A stunning set of nine 1s trials mounted on cards numbered 1-9 and dated « 9 NOV. 99 » with the heads in doubly-fugitive purple; a superb and extremely rare exhibition showpiece set.
