Rayon II, Type 3 des Steins A1-O mit vollständiger Kreuzeinfassung, in der seltenen Tabakbraun – orangegelb Nuance, mit öliger Kreuzeinfassung. Ein farbintensives und allseits voll- bis überwiegend breitrandiges Prachtstück mit Trennlinien auf 2 Seiten komplett, ungebraucht mit nahezu vollständiger Originalgummierung.

In ungebrauchter Erhaltung, das erste und einzige bekannte Stück und somit eine der bedeutendsten, wichtigsten und sensationellsten Stücke der Schweiz Philatelie.

Ein Schüsselstück zur Vervollständigung einer kompletten ungebrauchten Altschweiz Sammlung.

Das Stück kam zuerst an der 10. Ferrari Auktion (Los 546, 18-20. Juni 1924) auf dem Markt, angeboten in einem Posten mit Hinweis « 10 Rp. noir et rouge sur jaune-orange, neuf, encadrement (non garanti) » und auf der Tafel 16 abgebildet. Das Los wurde von Maurice Burrus gekauft, doch wurde diese Marke nicht an der Burrus Auktion angeboten und hat danach in die Robson-Lowe Sammlung bereichert

The unique unused example – Rayon II with full framed cross.

Rayon II, type 3 of the A1 – O stone with complete full framed cross, in the rare tobacco brown-yellow shade. A stamp of fresh colour with full to wide margins on all sides, featuring dividing lines on two sides and nearly complete original gum.

In mint condition, the only known example and thus one of the most significant and sensational items of Swiss philately.

A key piece for completing a comprehensive collection of unused classic Swiss stamps.

Detailed certificate by Urs Hermann (2023) and accompanying analyses, spectral analysis of the framed cross by Tobias Huylmans (2024) and by the “Institute for Non-Destructive Analysis” by Rudolf Lerch (2023).

The item first appeared on the market in the 10th Ferrari Auction (Lot 546, June 18–20, 1924), offered in a lot described as “10 Rp. black and red on yellow-orange, mint, full framed cross (not guaranteed)” and illustrated on Plate p. 6. The lot was purchased by Maurice Burrus, but this stamp was not offered in the Burrus auction and has subsequently been added to the Robson-Lowe collection.
