1882-90, 1 s. pale violet, a fine single used example on 1890 OHMS envelope sent registered from the Nevis Post Office to Dresden, tied by « A09 » obliterator with NEVIS despatch cds at left (Aug 26). Oval ‘R’ in at left and ‘Registered / London’ transit on front (Sept 11) in red. Reverse with Dresden arrival cds (Sept 12). File folds far away from franking but an immensely rare usage on commercial letter: this cover mentioned in RL Encyclopaedia on page 119. According to the Borromeo and Freeland Nevis handbook (2014) only two covers with the 1s key plate type are recorded (S.G. £3’000 on cover).
