1899 (Apr 1) envelope sent from a soldier in the West Africa Frontier Force to England, endorsed « on special service, no stamps procurable », reverse with very fine strike of the Royal Niger Company « Burutu » framed hs (serif letters) in violet, with Liverpool and London arrivals, taxed with ms « 2d » and « T » in crayon, with « 2d » crossed out and « 1d » hs applied instead in London, minor creasing, fine.
