1863–1966, An outstanding and highly specialised collection commencing with an in-depth study of the iconic 1863 Coat of Arms issue, represented by singles and blocks, together with plate proofs, muestra overprints, early town cancellations, a Spiro forgery, and a detailed treatment of the Ross surcharges of the 1880s. Notably, these opening pages were exhibited at 1960s stamp show, where they were awarded the Grand Award. The collection continues with impressive depth and consistency, featuring a wealth of plate proofs, perforation varieties, imperforate pairs, inverted overprints and surcharges, and notable tête-bêche pairs from the 1921 Centenary of Central American Independence issue. The back-of-the-book is particularly strong, including a set of official seals, as well as comprehensive sections of revenues and postal stationery. Carefully assembled and neatly mounted on album pages, the collection offers a wide range of specialised material, including plate errors, useful cancellations, overprint and surcharge varieties, as well as airmail and official issues, with a small number of overprint proofs. A substantial and rewarding holding (approximately 93% complete), comprising hundreds of items, many of which are rarely encountered on the market.
