1902 KEVII 1d blue ‘ECKERLIN’ printing style proofs produced in 1920s, one sheet of 25 on ungummed paper without watermark and another on gummed paper with watermark, produced in Germany in order to promote Dr. Eckerlin’s rotary press process for intaglio printing (developed by Herbst & Illig in Germany) to the British Post. The gummed sheet with watermark is believed to be unique. Catalogue ref: S.G. 219 var
