Portugal First Issue 50 reis yellow green, very fine with ample
to large margins all around tied by « 42 » numeral with corresponding
« SETUBAL » dispatch straight-line alongside on cover to Aalborg, DENMARK
sent via Lisboa (7.10.53), Spain, France, Thurn und Taxis p.o Hamburg,
Danish p.o (K.D.O.P.A HAMBURG).
ONLY TWO 50 REIS COVERS ARE RECORDED TO DENMARK
(both from the
same correspondence, this cover and another from September 1853).
Torlades & Co were actually also the senders of the only known cover
to Finland (which is part of the Figueiredo collection).
