1590-1870s, German States to early German Reich collection of stamps and postal history written up in three albums with better Thurn & Taxis, incl. pre-stamp such as 1590 Corsini cover from Bavaria, a range of Prussia incl. parcel post covers (paketbegleitbrief), express, Wurttemburg registered, etc., and the stamps incl. range of Bergedorf 1861 mint multiples, Heligoland, Hamburg, Thurn & Taxis with a developed section of 1852-58 and 1859-61issues including covers such as 1858 three-colour franking to Amsterdam, 1862 cover with 3kr strip of three to Barcelona, through to German Empire incl. 1/4gr used with 1.1.72 first day of issue cds, Large Shield incl. 9kr mint, Official 1972 30gr used with pen cancel, etc., a lovely lot; ex Stewart Gardiner.
