1878 artwork on cardboard for the frame and value tablets of the 5pa stamp (238 x 163mm), hand stamped “9 AUG 78,” consisting of four outlines of the Arabic inscriptions and value tablets, into which De La Rue had asked the Egyptian Postal authorities to insert the correct Arabic inscriptions and figures. Pencil notations indicated the “best” version of each figure and inscription as a guide to the engravers, unique; ex De La Rue Archives (Nile Post $1’500).
