Wrapper with red QUEBEC L.C.P., PAID (NOV) 19 1858 datestamp and red “6d Stg. Paid / 7½d Cy.” of Montreal, postage prepaid via Box 316 with Allan “Indian” service from Quebec through Liverpool (2 December), bearing straight-line “BY CANADIAN PACKET” handstamp of Liverpool on reverse, addressed to Dublin.
A remarkable example of mid-19th century transatlantic mail, showing full postal rate markings, prepayment, and packet routing. Illustrated in Robertson.
