1852–57 3d Deep Red on Medium Wove – “V.R.” Re-Entry (Pane B, Position 53)

3d deep red on medium wove paper, with good to very large margins showing a portion of the adjoining stamp at top, Pane B, Position 53, exhibiting the well-known “V.R.” re-entry, tied by “21” numeral on entire from Montreal, 14 October 1857, to Quebec.

Addressed to Colonel Barton, Commanding 9th Regiment, on HMS “Vulcan”.

A fine and desirable example showing this notable re-entry variety on cover.
