1851 6d Slate-Violet on Laid Paper Cover to USA

6d slate-violet on laid paper, right sheet-marginal example with good to large margins on the other sides, tied by blue concentric circles on cover from Belleville, 6 November 1855, via Kingston, with red curved framed CANADA handstamp to New York.

Considered one of the finest 6d laid paper covers recorded, paying the 6d U.S. letter rate, valid from 1 July 1851.
