Lot 60333 – Jammu & Kashmir – Circular Issues, 1866–1878. A choice

1866-78 Circular Issues, a choice and instructive group from the circular issues of Jammu & Kashmir, comprising two single adhesives: ½ anna grey-black and 1 anna ultramarine, each bearing clear seal obliterations—Srinagar in red and Jammu in violet respectively. Included is an internal cover franked with 1 anna ultramarine, cut round, with a clear Srinagar red seal cancellation on reverse. Also present is an internal letter bearing 1½ anna grey-black (watercolour printing), cancelled with a violet Jammu seal. Of particular interest is the manuscript date interpretation by Masson, reading 21 June 1867. A fine and desirable group, with notable provenance: ex Masson, ex Mix. Fine and very rare.
