1916 (18.12) The French Military Mission in Hejaz: Envelope to Tour, France, bearing Hejaz 1/2pi and 1pi applied but not required, the cover may have been carried privately to Paris and posted there (18.12) as there are no Egyptian transit mkgs., this may explain why the SIMPLE TAXE due hs was applied in error, alongside MISSION MILITAIRE FRANCAISE AU HEDJAZ / Le Chef de Mission cachet in violet which was recognized on arrival in Tour, as there is no evidence that postage due was charged, very fine and a rare usage
