NEW ZEALAND 1872 2d vermilion, no wmk, perf 12 1/2, right marginal block of 30, from the top three rows of the sheet (R1-3/3-12), with most stamps in the top row showing evidence of damage to the plate caused by overheating during printing, very fresh color with virtually full o.g. (16 stamps unmounted), centre row with horizontal crease (barely apparent) and a few inconsequential imperfections, nevertheless in a remarkable state of preservation for such a multiple, a rare and impressive showpiece, ex Charles Lathrop Pack (Harmer Rooke NY 7/5/46, lot 366), on his original page
