Gupta Empire, Srivikrama-Vikramadityah, c. early-6th century, AV dinar, 9.38 g. (22 mm). Obverse: ‘archer’ type, king with curls and tall face, wasp waist, and stiff stance to front wearing tailed tiunic over pleated loin cloth, standing left, holding longbow in left hand, arrow in right, slender standard with Garuda with halo at left. Reverse: Lakshmi seated facing with legs folded and heavy pleating to her hip cloth on lotus, holding diadem and long-stemmed lotus left, prominent tamgha to left, Brahmi legend to right, srivikrama in distinct angular letters, dotted border around.
VF-EF, well-centered, traces of lustre show through, with clear, legible script on both sides.
