Gupta Empire, Kumaragupta II, c. 473-476, AV dinar, 9.24 g. (20 mm). Obverse: ‘archer’ type, king with long curls wearing tunic with long tails over loin cloth with pleats and long, thin sash tied at waist with loop, standing left, holding longbow in left hand, arrow in right, Garuda standard at left, Brahmi ku with crescent above is seen under the king’s left arm. Reverse: Lakshmi seated facing with legs folded on lotus, holding diadem and long-stemmed lotus left, Brahmi legend to right kramaditya, dotted border around. Raven, KG2/group 1.
VF-EF, lustre shows through, an impressive and well-centered coin with fine details on obverse.
