A heavy archer coin of 8.50 g. usually ascribed to Chandragupta III. Kumar ascribes this variety to Chandragupta II. The dates of a Chandragupta III are unclear but we position him before the reign of Skandagupta. This example is a rare type with the chakra wheel between king and Garuda.
VF+, well-defined features, die crack on both sides.
Ex Chand Collection.
