Gupta Empire, Skandagupta, c. 455-467, AV dinar, 8.54 g. (18 mm). Obverse: ‘archer’ type, king standing left, holding longbow in left hand, arrow in right, Garuda standard at left, Brahmi legend under arm, Skanda, circular Brahmi legend around. Reverse: Lakshmi seated facing on lotus, holding diadem and long-stemmed lotus left, tamgha to left, Brahmi legend at right, Sri Skandaguptah. Kumar TOTGE 2024, Class I

VF-EF.

A rare coin struck to the old gold dinar weight standard, and not the later higher standard.
