1840 2d Pale Blue, Plate 1 (PA–QB) Block of Four, Used


A most attractive and very rare multiple, this block of four from Plate 1, positions PA–QB, is presented in a particularly appealing pale shade. The stamps show good, well-balanced margins, a little close at the lower right, and are neatly cancelled by contrasting red Maltese Crosses, enhancing both clarity and visual appeal.


A highly desirable block, combining colour, balance, and rarity, and seldom encountered in such pleasing condition.
