1870 1/2d Rose-red pl.9 vertical pair and single on a clean unfolded envelope, with upper stamp cancelled by a crisp Accrington « 5 » duplex for AP.11.1872, with the lower two stamps each cancelled by the single « 5 » barred numeral. Addressed to Salford (Lancs) and backstamped with a Manchester transit cds for AP.11.1872. Filing notes at left do not detract from this extremely rare multiple franking.
