1840 (Nov 9) 1d Mulready lettersheet, stereo A236, sent from Ipswich (Suffolk) to Gloucester, beautifully handpainted showing two bronze coins and stylised address, with Britannia cancelled by vivid red Maltese Cross, reverse with despatch, London transit and arrival ds, some minor soiling in no way detracting, certainly the most spectacular hand-illustrated Mulready in existence.

Expertise: Cert. PF (2008) and Karl Louis (2009).
