1840 (May 5) Mulready 1d lettersheet, stereo A34, sent to Jersey with ‘’2’’ in manuscript in black for postage due as the Mulready was not yet valid for postage, a fine backstamp of ‘’5 MY 1840’’ which displays nicely on top backflap, a great rarity, this being the only known pre May 6th usage sent outside the mainland; cert.
